Proxy setup for profiles
First-time guide to attaching a proxy to a browser profile. For bulk import/export see Import / export proxies. For troubleshooting see Proxy FAQ.
1. Gather proxy details
| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| Protocol | HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS5 |
| Host:port | 203.0.113.10:1080 |
| Username/password | optional |
Which proxy type?
Residential IPs suit social and marketplace accounts; datacenter IPs are faster for scraping and tests. See the proxy FAQ.
2. Add to the proxy library (optional)
- Open Proxy management.
- Add one row or import from template.
- Run batch test or per-row test until status is OK.
3. Attach to a profile
In Create browser or Edit profile → Basic settings:
| Field | Tip |
|---|---|
| Proxy mode | Custom — pick from library or type manually |
| Test proxy | Run before save |
| Proxy API URL | For rotating providers — Extract proxy fills the form |
See Create browser for screenshots.
4. Align fingerprint with egress IP
After the proxy works:
- Enable match timezone/language/location to IP when available.
- Launch the profile and check BrowserLeaks or FingerprintJS.
Configure IP lookup under IP lookup API and Client settings.
5. Quick fixes
| Symptom | Action |
|---|---|
| Test fails | Verify protocol, port, credentials; try another node |
| Test OK but sites fail | Target may block the IP range; try SOCKS5 |
| Fingerprint region mismatch | Enable IP-based locale or edit timezone manually |
| Many profiles need new proxies | Batch operations or re-import library |
